This enclosure was tested using a 2.5" hard drive from my brothers Dell laptop. I was very satisfied with the performance of this enclosure The read/write speeds through USB were basically standard compared to all the other enclosures I have reviewed. eSATA read/write speeds were also right on par with all other enclosures. As far as speeds go, this enclosure performs just as well as any other.
I do not have any major complaints about this enclosure. It is incredibly easy to use, it is automatically recognized by Windows, and its easy to hot swap. Installing a hard drive is a simple, tool-less procedure so it takes no time at all. The only complaint I have about this enclosure is that it is not designed to be portable. Most 2.5" enclosures are made to be slipped into your pocket or bag, and carried around. This is not the case with this enclosure, it is meant to be left on your desk
