Today I will be reviewing a unique laptop cooling stand. This stand is unique because not only does it have USB ports and fans, it is also designed to work for 17" laptops and is completely customizable. Very very few companies make accessories like this for larger laptops so I was happy to review this one! This is the Vizo Ninja HS laptop stand.

Unlike ordinary ones, VIZO NINJA HS adjustable notebook cooler can be adjusted its positions for fans to fit you notebook perfectly. Precise and personalized positioning is important because most of notebooks have different hot zone. NINJA HS can be moved dual fans up and down / right and left according to the hot zone of your notebook which make air-flow precisely to the hot zone and reduce its temperature efficiently. Thats basically all there is for features and specifications. It does and includes everything you would expect from a laptop cooler. Keep reading to see how well it perforrms!

Here you can see the front of the packaging. It clearly shows the product, as well all the important features. Its a simple design, but it gets the job done!!

 

Next we have the back of the package. Once again its a simple design. All the features are outlined, as are the specifications. Vizo also included a few pictures to show users how some of the features work. Yet again, simple yet effective.

Here you can see all the stuff included with the laptop stand. On the left are the two base legs and the USB cable. Next you can see the thumb-screws used to hold everything together, the main support arm, and finally the manual. All of this is very easy to assemble, and no tools are required. Plus you can easily unsrew the legs to adjust the angle

 

Here you can see the top of the cooler. Not a lot to see here, just a basic design. Two legs attached to the base and your laptop can sit right on top.

This is the bottom of the stand. You can clearly see the two fans, but more importantly you can see the screws on the fans and legs. Each fan can be moved either in, or out so you can control where the air blows. The legs also ahve a numbering system so you can make sure they are attached at the same point. This makes it really easy to change the viewing/typing angle without dealing with leveling issues.

Here you can see the USB hub on the side as well as the wheels on the legs. The hub is a great addition because you gain 2 extra USB ports to attach whatever you feel like. The wheel on the back is also nice because you can easily move the stand around, but it wont slide unless you tilt it back onto the wheels.

Here you can see the pad connected to my laptop. Again you can also see the wheel on the back of the leg. Essentially all you have to do to "install" the stand is hook it up to a USB port using the provided cable.

Here you can see my laptop on the stand. My laptop is a standard 16" laptop and it fits just fine. Some of the larger 17" laptops may have trouble fitting perfectly, but in most cases they fit just fine. The non-skid rubber on the top and bottom of the legs keeps your laptop from sliding, and it keeps the stand from sliding on the desk.

 

Thoughts

Overall I am initially very happy with the Ninja HS. I see no problems with it so far, and it does what it should. Keep reading and we'll get into the real testing!!

There is no "standard" way to test a laptop cooler/stand, so I did what I thought made sense. Leaving my laptop on highest performance I did a variety of tests. I put it through standard uses (surfing the internet and homework) and I pushed it to the extreme (benchmarks) to see how it would handle it.

During normal use the cooler performed quite well. The temperatures were slightly lower, and the exhaust didnt seem to be outputting nearly as much heat. Not surprisingly, the cooler also performed well under more extreme cases. The overall temperature (by hand) of the laptop was slightly lower, and the CPU temperature was also about 4ºC lower than without the stand. I consider this adequate for additional cooling of a laptop.

However, the more important aspect (in my opionion) is the viewing/usage angle. The laptop keyboard is presented in a much more accessable way. It is noticeably easier to type when using the stand just because of the angle. The best part is, the angle can be customized; this means everyone can set it how the like and get the best use out of their Ninja HS.

 

Conclusion

Overall I am very satisfied with this cooler/laptop stand. The Ninja does a good job at reducing temperatures, it keeps everything from overheating, it adds a few USB ports, and it makes the computer easier to use. I dont know what else to ask for from a simple laptop stand. The "extra" features Vizo added that other companies dont always include make the Ninja a great product choice!

Cons

• None!

As you can see, I can't find anything to complain about with the Ninja HS! It does what it says, and it does it well. Plus, it does things that most competitive products can't do (adjustable..) Vizo has once again done a great job with product development, and it shows. The Ninja HS laptop stand has earned a PERFECT 10/10 from Tech Arkade, as well as the Golden Ghost Award!!
