Now that we've seen the features and specifications, let's take a close look at the case.

PackagingPackaging
The above pictures show the box and packaging. You can see how detailed it is at listing all the features on the back and the specifications on the side. The front is a bit dull, but it does what it's supposed to. And finally the you can see the way the case was packed in securely.
Case Packaging

Here's the first look at the case out of the packaging. It's looking pretty good so far, the front intake fan is 200mm along with the side and top exhaust fans. The front panel is an arsenal of features. Starting at the left side there's the power button, fan speed controller and on/off switch for the fan lights, e-SATA, the two usual audio ports, 4 USB ports and an IEEE port.
Water ports
On the back of the case there's really not much to see externally besides the 2 holes cut out of water coolers.
Feet Feet
Up next is the bottom of the case where you will find the adjustable feet. Sitting parallel with the case is really sturdy and turning them out makes it even more sturdy, but it's safe to say you don't need them turned out if you don't want to. One other thing to notice is the holes all over the case.

Side Panel Packaging

The side panel is pretty much a huge window covered with mesh-type stuff. The second picture shows the 200mm intake fan that wasn't included with the original Sniper case, but is with the Black Edition. Will it hit my TRUE? We'll find out!

Our first look inside the case reveals lots of goodies! Just at the first glimpse we saw the tool-less drive bays(both hard drives and disk drives, tool-less expansion slots on the back, a massive hole for easier heatsink installation on the CPU, quite a few cable management places, 2 200mm fans, and the 120mm exhaust fan at the back. Also included with the case is an SSD mounting kit which is nice considering that's becoming more and more popular among enthusiasts and gamers these days.

Back of Case

And finally we take an even closer look at some of the features mentioned above. The first picture is a button that secures the disk drives into the bay with just 1 press which is really handy, next up is the top exhaust fan which is also a whopping 200mm, and then at the back of the case you can see the water cooling holes, 120mm exhaust fan, and the 7 tool free expansion slots. Let's move on to the final result!

Built Lights

The Cooler Master Sniper Black Edition is a bit pricey for a mid-tower case at around $149.99, but it really doesn't seem like a mid-tower. It's more like a small full-tower case that has almost an endless amount of features. When building my rig into this case I ran into 0 problems. It's big enough that I didn't have to try hard at all when putting the TRUE on, which can sometimes be a very laborious task.
Airflow in this case is very surprising when take into consideration the amount of noise it doesn't make. With the fans turned all the way down, my loudest component is the Sapphire HD5870. With the fans turned on high, the cases noise is still a bit quiter than my 5870 at idle fans of 21%. With 2 exhause fans and 1 intake fan practically right on the CPU, the TRUE keeps my CPU @ 3.4GHz topping out at 48 degrees C, which is very nice since I have 2 low profile Noctua fans on it. Another nice feature relating to the fans is the lighting. At night, the case doesn't punch you in the face with light, but instead it maintains a nice looking glow, and if you really don't like lights in your case, you can turn them off with just the touch of a button.

Pros:

  • Looks Good
  • Supports Large heatsink with Sidefan Attached
  • Fan Controller Built-In
  • Fan Lighting - Can Be Turned Off
  • Steel Build
  • Fits the 5870 w/Ease.
  • 100% Tool-less Design

Cons:

  • Price - $149.99 at Newegg.com

Our final rating for the Cooler Master Storm Sniper Black Edition is a 9/ 10!
