About Razer

Razer collaborates with gamers to develop, manufacture and market cutting-edge gaming peripherals utilizing proprietary technologies that give gamers the competitive edge. We reinvented the computer gaming industry by bringing this competitive edge to gamers when professional computer gaming was in its infancy. In the mid 90s, with the advent of networked gaming and competitive first-person-shooter (FPS) games, gamers found that their legacy peripherals were inhibiting rather than enhancing their gameplay.

Undoubtedly, Razer is the worldwide leader in terms of professional gaming peripherals. While we are light years ahead of our competitors in terms of technology, design and ergonomics, we are not resting on our laurels but are developing other key products and peripherals with the gamer in mind to bring that competitive edge to gameplay that Razer is synonymous with.

Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, Razer collaborates with gamers to develop, manufacture and market cutting-edge gaming peripherals utilizing proprietary technologies that give gamers the competitive edge. Razer products have earned critical praise and won multiple awards from around the world for their precision, sensitivity, usability and distinctions in product design. Engineered to near perfection, Razer’s reputation of being the leader in gaming peripheral technology is embodied in every single Razer product.

Here's the first view of the Moray head phones.

This is the back of the box that tells you anything you would need to know about the product.

Here is everything that came with the ear phones. Starting from the top left we have the user manual, certificate of authenticity, the zippered carrying case with Razer logo, 2 x Razer stickers, and the headphones with different sized ear pieces.

These are the 3 sets of ear pieces which are different sizes to better fit the various people that will be using these.

Having seen these pictures, let's go ahead and move on to the testing a conclusion to see how these perform.

Testing

I've been using these ear phones for about a week now for all my audio needs except for in the car of course. I've listened to music, played Call of Duty, and even watched/listened to a few You Tube videos with these. I am extremely impressed with how well these block out any and all noise including my teachers at school. I'm sure they really appreciate that, but the Moray earphones really do a great job of blocking all noise from being heard while wearing these.

While playing games, especially Call of Duty 5, I'm able to hear everything that's going on in the game. Foot steps especially are extremely audible and that's a very important factor in that game. The bass is magnificent, and really brings games to life. The explosion of a grenade really makes these things shine, and have so far been extremely pleasing to me.

The Razer Moray ear phones aren't only great for gaming, but also listening to music. The sound is balanced and you can actually hear all the different parts of the song's you listen to. One thing I noticed quite a bit is how the bass didn't completely over power the rest of what was going on in, and vice versa making the Moray's an extremely acceptable candidate for your ipod on long trips.

The look of these ear phones is pretty snazzy, although I do have the white pair, they do meet and exceed all my expectations from hardware that is used in my ear. Not only do they look great, they are also very very comfortable and can be used for quite a long time without a break. For example, I had a chemistry test this past Wednesday and the Moray's got me through the 2 hours and I still couldn't even notice them being in except for the fact that I was listening to music.

Conclusion

Pros:

  • Appearance
  • Quality
  • Amazing Sound Quality
  • Great for games, movies, and music

Cons:

  • $39.99 Price Tag - Not really a con to me, but to some.
Considering the quality of the sound, the comfort level, and also the great looks, I rate the Razer Moray in-ear noise canceling ear phones a 9/10 and give them the Golden Ghost award for them being an outstanding product.
